Mrs. Collie Elizabeth Dickinson Scott, 94, of Williamson, passed away on Monday, April 14, 2008, at Providence Nursing Home in Thomaston.
Mrs. Scott was born on March 15, 1914, in Pike County to the late Raymond Hill Dickinson and the late Lola Ballard Dickinson. She is preceded in death by husband, Roger W. Scott, and brother, Ray Dickinson. Mrs. Scott had worked as a supervisor for Spalding Knitting Mill and had been a lifelong member of Williamson United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Kay Scott Youman and John Youman of Rome, Ga., and Judy Scott Smith and W.L. Smith of Concord; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Helen Dickinson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Collie Elizabeth Dickinson Scott will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 16, 2008, at Williamson United Methodist Church. The Rev. Don Cooper will officiate. Interment will follow in Williamson United Methodist Church Cemetery. Friends may visit the family from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Williamson United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, 20 Second District Road, Williamson, GA 30292 in memory of Mrs. Scott. Mrs. Scott will be carried to the church to lie in state from 9:45 a.m. until the funeral hour on Wednesday.
